One of Musician’s Institute’s most popular instructors, Daniel Gilbert has played guitar professionally in the New York City area since age 16.
He has studied music at Queensborough Community College and Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. His private teachers have included Pat Martino, Howard Morgan and Ronnie Lee. Daniel has kept busy teaching, doing sessions, and recording. He just finished an EP of original guitar music called “Before the Sunrise”.
Daniel is also the co-author of Guitar Soloing, and Advanced Soloing for MI Press (Hal Leonard Publications). His specialties at MI are Single String Improvisation, Applied Technique, Guitar Workout, Fusion LPW and Eclectic Electric Guitar.
His playing style has always been eclectic, mixing modern and traditional blues, jazz, rock, fusion, Bluegrass, and Gypsy Jazz elements.
Daniel has performed and played with the Crusaders, Dan Siegel, Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, Ralph Humphrey, and Russ Ferrante. He also leads his own band “Gee Triad”, performing originals, and interesting cover tunes.
